Pilates is a low impact, but intense form of exercise. My classes are predominantly based on the mat exercises originally developed by Joseph Pilates.
The benefits of Pilates include improved posture, a stronger core and pelvic floor and reduced back pain. Please feel free to contact me if you have any health issues you’d like to discuss before attending.
In Pilates, I have a hands on approach and aim for everyone to do each exercise in the best way for their particular body and what they’d like to achieve. I have a Teaching Certificate with Balanced Body (based in the USA they are the largest Pilates organisation in the world). I also have an Pilates NVQ Qualification. I offer classes in Sheringham Community Centre and Cromer Community Centre (see timetable page for details). I also offer one to one sessions, either at your home or in my home cabin (see details below).

Benefits of Pilates:

- Increased strength in the whole body
- Increased flexibility in the whole body
- Low impact
- Options and modifications to suit individual needs
- Improved concentration and mental well-being
PILATES CLASSES
There is a particular technique to Pilates which is important to learn in order to ensure the exercises are both safe and effective, and to give a solid base to progress from. Those new to Pilates will need, therefore, to attend a few of the Beginners classes before joining other classes, to understand and learn the basics first. This class is drop in, so you can start anytime. It’s a small class, so you’ll have individual attention and space to ask questions. I usually suggest 4-6 classes, however, you might feel confident after fewer or prefer to stay longer. An alternative would be to have a 1 or 2 one-one sessions. If you already have Pilates experience with another teacher can join the improvers class straight away. Those wanting a more gentle class or rehabbing after illness or injury are also welcome to attend the Beginners/Gentle classes.
My beginners class is on Tuesdays 10:45-11:45am at Sheringham Community Centre. Please note that I am also currently incorporating beginners into the Wednesday night class in Cromer, so please feel free to join that as a beginner.
COST:
£8 per class
10 classes for £70
ONE TO ONE PILATES
I also offer a one to one service. This could be to help rehabilitate a bad back or injury, to support through illness, if you feel uncomfortable in a class setting or if you prefer a more personalised service.. These can take place in your own home or at Beth’s home in Cromer. All equipment is provided. For a 1-1 session at your home, you just need enough space to put a yoga sized mat down. This option is suitable for complete beginners or those of you with Pilates experience. All sessions will be typed up, to help you remember what you’ve learnt or so you can practice between sessions if you wish. We can work towards a programme of exercises which suit your needs perfectly.
COST:
FREE 15 minute discovery call to see if this option would suit you and discuss your needs.
£45:00 for a one hour 1-1 Pilates session (including notes). Please note there may be a small extra charge for travel if outside the Cromer/Sheringham area. £160 for 4 hour long 1-1 Pilates Sessions. (to be used within 6 months)

Beginners/Gentle Pilates
A mat-based Pilates class for beginners to learn and become familiar with the basic principles of Pilates, before moving on to the Improvers Pilates classes. The time to do this will vary from person to person. It is also the perfect place to refresh your knowledge if you’ve had a break from Pilates; if you’re re-habilitating from an illness or operation; or if you prefer a slower paced, more gentle class. Beth will watch everyone during the class and give individual feedback and advice to help you get the most from the class and, when covid restrictions/practicalities allow, assist with hands on adjustments if you choose.
Improvers Pilates
A mat-based Pilates class suitable for those with some Pilates experience and knowledge of the basic principles. A large range of options and modifications are given to suit various levels of experience and to protect injuries and health issues. Beth will watch everyone during the class and give individual feedback and advice to help you get the most from the class and, when covid restrictions/practicalities allow, assist with hands on adjustments if you choose.
Intermediate Pilates
A mat-based Pilates class for those with a good level of Pilates experience and includes intermediate exercises and the occasional advanced exercise. Options will be given, however, for those not ready for a particular exercise. Beth will watch everyone during the class and give individual feedback and advice to help you get the most from the class and, when covid restrictions/practicalities allow, assist with hands on adjustments if you choose.
