SHIATSU
I qualified as a Shiatsu practitioner in 1997 at The Shiatsu College, Norwich. Originating in Japan, Shiatsu is gentle type of massage based on traditional Chinese philosophy. The term Shiatsu comes from Shi (fingers) and atsu (pressure). Whereas acupuncture uses needles, shiatsu uses gentle pressure with the hands, it also incorporates gentle movements in the joints and massage techniques. A treatment will start with a short consultation to identify any specific issues you are experiencing. Shiatsu is a clothed session and will take place on a comfortable mat on the floor, for a home visit I will bring this. This treatment does not require the removal of clothes or the use of oils. It is an ideal treatment for those who find it difficult to get up onto a massage bed, prefer over the clothes treatments and for those who are in need of rebalancing treatment. It can instill a deep sense of relaxation and well-being and can bring balance and equilibrium on a mental, physical and emotional level. It can promote the body’s own healing response and help with a wide variety of health issues, both mental and physical.
